Mrs. Laura Ruth Seegars Reeves

Mrs. Laura Ruth Seegars Reeves was the daughter of Bernice Seegars Warren of Kershaw, South Carolina. She was born on January 10, 1948 in Kershaw County, South Carolina. She went to glory on July 21, 2010 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital.

Laura Reeves attended public school in Kershaw and Lancaster Counties. She was a member of Sandhills Baptist Church in Kershaw, South Carolina. Upon graduating from Barr Street High School, she met and married James Edward Reeves of Lancaster County, South Carolina. Once married, they had four children with whom they traveled across the country and to Hawaii.

She was employed with Harris Management Company and afer her husband's retirement, she was employed with Bryan Psychiatric Hospital until the health of her husband failed and she became his full time caregiver until his death in 1998.

Laura Reeves was not a selfish person and would put others need before her own. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She was a homemaker who loved to read, work with her houseplants and to do word challenges, but she especially loved being with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her children: Frank (Djwana) Reeves, Brenda J. Reeves, Crystal (Gerald) Smith and Cassandra Reeves; her mother, Bernice Seegars Warren; six grandchildren, Iris D. Smith, Emerald N. Smith, Julius G. Smith, Aron Smith, Terrence Smith and Caleb E. Reeves; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 26, 2010 at First Northeast Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Palmer Memorial Chapel, Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 6-7:00 pm.
