Services for Mr. Terry Wainwright Mitchell, Sr. will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, North, SC, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Jonesville, SC to Mrs. Fannie Mae Smith Mitchell and the late Claudius Wainwright Mitchell. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. He was a 1964 graduate of C.A. Johnson High School. Terry joined joined the United States Army at age seventeen and served faithfully for fourteen and a half years. His military experiences include two tours in Thailand, two tours of duty in Vietnam and and Germany. He earned several distinguished medals and honors. His last duty station was at Ft. Lewis Tacoma, Washington.

He joined joined in matrimony to Mrs. Alwillie Rowe Mitchell on July 20, 1971.

He was a former employee of the Department of Corrections and Reely's Paint and Body Shop. He was a life member of the VFW Post 4262 in Columbia.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his devoted wife, Alwillie Mitchell; his children, Kathy Rowe, Sabrina (Darrell) Jones, Tammy (Terry) Keller, Lavone Mitchell, Katrina (Robert) Smith and Terry Mitchell, Jr.; grand children, Krystal, Karis Kiara, Robert, Jr., Tiarra, Da'Quan, jarvis, Latavia, Jaylin, Talia, Tyrese, Lamaya, Tionna, LaBarie, Kashiya and Tevin.; great grandchildren, Trenton and Ariel all of Columbia; his mother, Fannie Rowe Mitchell; one sister, Audrey (Oliver) Smith of Columbia; mother-in-law, Lillian Rowe of Swansea; sister-in-law, Bernice Crum of Swansea; brothers-in-law, Freddie Jamison and Bobby Jamison; three aunts, Mildred Wilson, Mary Ella Jefferies and Yvonne (Clint) Mirman; nieces; nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends; and a special friend, Reverend James Taylor.

The family would like to thank the staff at V.A. Dorn Medical Center and Providence Hospital North East for their special care and concern.
