Margie Deloris Bradley

Life Reflections Margie Deloris Bradley born on November 27, 1951, in Lee County, South Carolina, was the sixth child of eleven born to the late Walter A. Bradley and Rosa Lee Ruth Bradley. She was a graduate of the “Class of 1969” of Mt. Pleasant High School in Elliott, S.C. where she was captain of the girls’ varsity basketball team, a member of the marching band, and a school bus driver. Upon graduating, Margie was employed with Campbell Soup Company, Incorporated for many years. After retiring, she devoted the rest of her life in service to her church, community, and family. She never liked sitting down and took on the role of providing helping hands in any way needed. As a member of New Zion A.M.E Church, she served in many capacities and organizations: Margie was the First Vice Chair of the “Helen Luckey” Missionary Society Zone #3; Chairperson for the Tots and Teens pageant; Local Assistant Commissioner for Christian Debutante-Master Commission; member of the Young Adult Choir, Adult Choir and served in many other areas as needed. Most importantly, she regularly attended Bible Study and Church School because she had a deep desire to learn and study God’s Word, as she knew that this was the highest level of learning. She loved reading God’s Word and reciting poetry, which she did with great exuberance. She was often called upon for special events, which she accepted gracefully with her award-winning smile. Because of her love for poetry, she was affectionately referred to as “The Poem Lady”, which she proudly accepted. Included in her many passions, she loved the piano as well, which led to teaching herself how to play. Although she did not have any biological children, she was a mother to many. She unselfishly gave her time, love, and care to all of her nieces and nephews. Her generous heart coupled with her willing spirit played a pivotal part in their growth and development. You could always count on her to lend a helping hand wherever she could even if it meant traveling out of town to assist with their care. Not only did she care for her nieces and nephews, she was a beacon of support for her siblings, becoming the glue that held the family together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Bradley, Albert Bradley and James Bradley. Those left to cherish precious memories are four sisters: Nancy L. Charles, Washington, DC; Louvenia (Roosevelt) Wilson, Lynchburg, SC; Ernestine (Daddy) Emeruem, Stone Mountain, GA and Betty (George) Turner, Cheltenham, MD; five brothers: Booker T. Carter and Larry (Diane) Bradley of Sumter, SC; Wardell Bradley, Bishopville, SC; Wilton Bradley and Roosevelt Bradley, Mayesville, SC. She also leaves a godson, Shamond Harrell and a goddaughter, La’Isla Emeruem; one aunt, Bernice Bradley, Bishopville, SC; 15 nieces; 13 nephews; and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and dear frien
