Rosalina Anduyan James

Rosalina Anduyan James departed this earthly life on Thursday November 23, 2017 at National Health Care in Sumter, South Carolina. Born on January 31, 1945 in Cebu City, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Hilarion Anduyan and Francisca Mercado. Rosalina met and married the love of her life, Vernon James, during his military assignment in the Philippines. The family traveled extensively while serving in the Air Force and visited many cities stateside and abroad. After serving for 22 years, together the family returned to the Sumter Community for retirement. Mrs. James was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God Church, where she faithfully served with the Missionettes and as a Sunday school teacher. She also joyfully assisted the musicians with the playing of her tambourine. Mrs. James was employed with the former Glenn Manufacturing Company of Sumter for several years. She enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking and crocheting. She will be remembered for her exuberant personality, joyous laugh and vibrant energy that filled any room. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Pepito “Petong” Anduyan and Josephina Anduyan Perez, and step-mother Herminia Salac. Those left to cherish her precious memories are: her husband of 48 years, Vernon James; eight children: Rodolfo Garcia of the Philippines, Reggie (Nicole) James of Sumter, Randy (Amanda) James and Roderick “Teddy” (Michelle) James of Germany, Vernon “Jeff” (Ashleigh) James of Georgia, Marcelina “Marcy” (Roberto) Etienne of China, and Joey and Lisa Mohican, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings: Rick (Flordeliza S. Zurita) Anduyan, Filipinas Anduyan, and Theodore (Norma) Salac of the Philippines, Linda Alston, Betty James and Sandy James of Sumter, Evelyn (Calvin) Woods and Elaine James of Columbia; along with a host of many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on November 29th, 2017 at Palmer Memorial Chapel, 304 S. Main St, Sumter, SC from 4pm-7pm. Mrs. James will be placed at Green Acres Assembly of God, 537 Lewis Rd, Sumter, SC on November 30th, 2017 at 12pm for viewing until service begins at 2pm with the interment to follow at the Green Acres cemetery. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Palmer’s Memorial Chapel or directly to the James Family c/o Reggie James.
