Mrs. Sandra J. Woods Anthony-Johnson

Mrs. Sandra J Anthony-Johnson was born on November 19, 1943, and was called to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 2, 2013. She was the oldest child of the late Willie Lee Scott and the late CJ Woods both of Brooklyn, New York. She was married to Carl C. Johnson for over forty years. She was a devoted and loving mother to her only son, Mr. Ronald E. Anthony. Sandra was a visionary and multi-talented entrepreneur. She was the co-owner of “Mid-County Monuments, Inc.” service. She served as a Certified Medical Fraud examiner for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of South Carolina for over twenty-five years. She loved to read, attend ballets like the “Nut-Cracker”, cook for her family, and listen to classical music. Her favorite pass time was learning new ways to reinvent things and going to the movies with her beloved husband. She obtained her high school diploma in the public schools of New York City. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Kingsborough College in Manhattan Beach, New York. She also received a secondary degree in Practical Nursing from Clara Barton Nursing School in Brooklyn, New York. She took Supervisory and Management Courses from the Business Satellite program offered at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina that lead to her obtaining her Medical Fraud Examiner Certification. Mrs. Sandra J Anthony-Johnson leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Mr. Carl C. Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina; son, Mr. Ronald E. Anthony (Michelle Anthony) of Columbia, South Carolina; daughter, Brenda Watkins; sister, Denise L. Deramus (Eddie Goodwin), of Columbia, South Carolina; brothers, Andre Deramus (Gloria Deramus), of Columbia, South Carolina and Henry (Buddi) Deramus Jr. of Brooklyn, New York; grandsons; Xavier Pinkston of Columbia South Carolina, Joseph Gandy (LaShanda Gandy) of New Jersey, Benjamin (BJ) Gandy of New Jersey, and Andrew Encarnacion of Bronx, New York; granddaughter, Joanna Watkins of Bronx, New York; nieces, Monique Shaw (Gregory Shaw)both of Alpharetta, Georgia, Rebecca Wilson (Leon Wilson) both of White Plains, Maryland, Denise Mobley (Joseph Mobley) both of Columbia, South Carolina, and Adrienne Deramus of Columbia, South Carolina; great-nieces, Shaquala (Princess Alex) Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina, Imani Woodard of Alpharetta, Georgia, Sakura Wilson of White Plains, Maryland, and Kendall Shaw of Alpharetta, Georgia; great-nephews, Joseph T. Mobley of Columbia, South Carolina, Demitri Wilson of White Plains, Maryland, and Khalil Mobley of Columbia, South Carolina; a host of other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her mother Mrs. Willie Lee Scott and father CJ Woods both of Brooklyn, New York; grandparents, Mrs. Lucille (Bubbi) Scott and Mr. Monroe (Popscotti) Scott both of Cleveland, Ohio; great-nephews, Jamal R. Williams of Columbia, South Carolina and Darrell D. Williams III of Columbia, South Carolina. Services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Palmer Memorial Chapel.
