Caroles Singleton

“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith.” IITimothy 4:7 On June 16, 1968, Caroles Singleton was born in Sumter County. As a small child, she relocated to Boston, Massachusetts and was educated in the Catholic schools. She attended New Hope Baptist Church in Boston as a child until relocating to South Carolina. Upon graduation from high school, she received her degree in nursing from Framingham State University. Caroles was employed as a home health nurse in Boston for ten years. Due to illness she made a career change and became employed at Delta Dental. Caroles always had a smile on her face. Her love of children made her the Pied Piper-they were enchanted by her, desiring attention and hugs. She epitomized the virtuous woman spoken in Proverbs 31. Caroles was a good samaritan with a beautiful spirit. Counseling and supporting family members and friends was appreciated and she found joy in doing so. Caroles had an eye for color and interior design and that made her a true fashionista. Road trips with her family were always special occasions. Her contagious laugh and presence would fill a room with joy. Caroles touched everyone with her unconditional love and affection. These traits made her simply unforgettable. As her illness progressed, she discontinued working. God saw her getting tired and the care was not to be. He put his arms around her and whispered, “Come to me.” With tearful eyes, we watched and saw her pass away. Although she knew we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay. Our hearts are heavy now but we find joy knowing she is at peace with our Lord where there is no more suffering. Caroles leaves to cherish precious memories: her beloved mother, Mary (Julius Adgers) Singleton, Sumter, South Carolina; her loving father Robert (Diane) Singleton, Columbia, South Carolina; a daughter, Sabrina Amara Nelson and a son Vincent Paul Nelson, III of the home; a step-daughter Tiffany Payne of Boston, Massachusetts; four sisters: Sylvia (Michael Latimore) Singleton and Lucretia Henry both of Boston, Massachusetts; Juanita Stukes, Atlanta, Georgia; Samantha (Andre) Singleton-Bright, Columbia, South Carolina; one brother, Robert L. Singleton, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina; one grandmother, Matilda Singleton, Wedgefield, South Carolina; one special niece, Genia Alana Singleton-Briggs of Boston, Massachusetts; best friends: Susan Young, Boston, Massachusetts and Mariella Tarara, Norwood, Massachusetts; a special cousin Dorothy Howard, Boston, Massachusetts.
