Ms. Evelyn Edmonds

Ms. Evelyn Edmonds was born July 13, 1934, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the seventh child of the late Mr. June “June Bug” and Mrs. Florine Fabor Edmonds. She received her heavenly wings on December 30, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland, Emergency Room. “Grannie”, “Auntie” and/or “Cuz” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the public schools of Richland County, including Waverly Elementary and C.A. Johnson High School. She was employed at Eckerds Drug Store dietary service for 35 years, then at Department of Mental Health dietary service for 10 years. She retired from Dept. of Mental Health, Bull St. She started her Christian walk at a young age. She was a member of Second Nazareth Baptist Church, where she sang on the Musical Choir and a member of the Senior Missionary Society. After several years, she decided to join her family at First Nazareth Baptist Church, where she immediately became a member of the Senior Missionary Society, now known as the Missions Ministry. She was a dependable active member until her health decline. She also served in the Order of Eastern Star; Scottish Rites affiliate for over 60 years. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her son; Abraham Edmonds, grandson; Jonaha Edmonds, her ex-husband; Robert Frazier, four brothers; MSG Elijah Edmonds, Mr. Joseph Edmonds, Dea. Benjamin Edmonds and Mr. June Samuel Edmonds, and sister; Rebecca “Beck” Edmonds Those left to cherish her precious memories are her daughters; Louise Edmonds Tucker, and Rev. Judith Edmonds of Columbia, SC, her sons; Jerry Lee (Martha) Edmonds, McDonough, GA, and Robert “Junior” Frazier, Columbia SC, her sister; Mrs. Ernestine Edmonds James, and grands; Averyl Edmonds, Joseph Tucker, Jerry L. Edmonds, Yasiekaya (Bill) Williams, Catherine (Gerry) Grant, Carolyn (Kevin) Bender Smith, Scottie Stubbs, Daniel Edmonds, Tiffany (Anthony) Billingslea, Latasha Edmonds, Corey Stevenson, Lamettress Stevenson, and Karyna Jasper. Adopted grands, Neveah Edmonds and Jeni Edmonds. A host of great-grands, great-great-grands, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends all of whom will miss her.
