Monique Latasha Lawrence

Monique Latasha Lawrence departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Columbia, SC on July 22, 1973, she was the only daughter born to Alethia Robinson Durrah –March and Lewis Albert Fuller. She was raised in a loving home with Ronnie L. Durrah and was blessed with the paternal influcences of Remus L. March. . At an early age, Monique accepted Christ and joined the Bethleham United Methodist Church in St. Matthews, SC. She enjoyed all of the benefits of having a personal relationship with the Lord. She trusted in God and knew from whence her strength came. Monique was a warrior for the Lord and her life was a living testimony to the goodness and everlasting kindness of our Almighty Father. Monique was educated in the Richland County public schools and was a graduate of Richland Northeast High School in the Class of 1991. She attended South Carolina State University where she majored in Business Administration. She was employed as a Customer Service Representative with the Best Buy Corporation and later at Time Warner Cable Company until her retirement. She was also a licensed agent with the Primerica Financial Services. In her spare time, she enjoyed organizing and planning events; she was passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers and a faithful follower of the New Edition (she traveled extensively to wherever they were performing) and most importantly, she loved and adored her family (she was the go to anchor of her family). She was a woman of love, strength and never complained in spite of what she may have been experiencing in life. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Marion Robinson, Sr. and a loving niece and friend, Tanisha Keys. Monique leaves to cherish precious memories, her children, DeAndre M. Robinson and Avril D. Lawrence both of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren: Cyann I. McCall Robinson of Laurinsburg, NC and Eden M. Lawrence of Columbia; her loving and attentive parents, Alethia Durrah-(Remus)March of Goldsboro, NC; father, Lewis A. Fuller of Columbia; her special father Ronnie L. Durrah of Columbia; brother that she adored, Ronnie S. Durrah, of Columbia; a maternal grandmother, Elouise Robinson of St. Matthews, SC; special grandparents, Howard and Catherine Durrah of Inman, SC; a loving godmother, Shirley A. Lewis of Columbia; special nephew Jeremiah K. Durrah also of Columbia and a very special companion, Rob Squire of Columbia and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
