To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiates 3:1 A Time to Born……..Olympia Duncan Wilson was born September 26, 1976 in Lancaster, South Carolina. She was the first of two children (Brandi) born to Randolph and Clara McIlwain Duncan. A Time to Grow….. Olympia grew up in Lancaster and attended the public schools of Lancaster County. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1995. She furthered her education at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina where she earned Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2000. In 2012 she earned her Master’s degree in Psychology from Phoenix University, Atlanta Georgia. A Time to Worship ………Olympia at an early age became a lifelong member of Mount Moriah A.M.E. Zion Church in Lancaster, South Carolina. She served faithfully in numerous capacities as a youth delegate for the Lancaster District Pee Dee Conference and on the Junior Usher Board. A Time to Love….. Olympia married the love of her life, Yancey T. Wilson on September 27, 2008 and their union was blessed with two adorable children. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, awesome daughter-in-law, sister, aunt, niece and friend. She always had the will to do what was right not only for her family but, for those whom she worked and those in the community in which she lived. She also loved baking and in 2013, she was awarded the first place prize at the South Carolina State Fair for her mouth-watering Lemon Pound Cake. A Time to Serve….Olympia was very involved in the Parent/Teacher Associations at North Springs Elementary and Summit Parkway Middle School. She was also an active Girl Scout Mom and supporter of Service Troop #2257 in the Blythewood regional area. She was a proud member of Alpha Kappa Apha Sorority Incorporated and previously served as a former Clemson Extension Board Member. A Time to Work…. Olympia began her professional career in Lancaster County in 2001 as a Teen Coordinator. She was first employed by the Chester Lancaster Disabilities and Special Needs Board. She was also with Lancaster County Parks and Recreation. Later in 2003, she was employed with the Sumter County Disabilities and Special Needs Boards where she worked faithfully and diligently until her untimely death. She was well respected and admired by the many clients she was privileged to serve. A Time to Die… God called her home from labor to reward on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Providence Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. A Time to Mourn…. Fond memories of Olympia will be forever cherished by: her loving and devoted husband, Yancey T. Wilson of the home; her caring children, JazLyn Nichole Wilson and Jayden Xavier Wilson of the home; her parents, Randolph and Clara McIlwain Duncan of Lancaster, South Carolina; one sister, Brandi Duncan; her paternal Grandmother, Perley Miller all of Lancaster; her dedicated mother and father in-law, Buford and Sandra D. Wilson, of Mayesville, South Carolina; four brothers in-law Buford Wilson, Jr. of Sumter, South Carolina, GYSGT Jason (Darcy) Wilson of Opelika, Alabama, Mason T. Wilson of San Antonio, Texas and Dyron V. Anderson of Columbia, South Carolina; Nieces: Kyndall Hood, Gabriel Wilson, and Brittany R. Wilson; Nephews: Zachary Wilson and Gervais Dinkins; a special uncle Robert “Rob” Duncan; a host of other uncles , aunts, cousins , other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: James and Freddy C. McIlwain and her paternal grandfather: Elliott Duncan
