Brenda Lynette Dash-Frazier passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, September 21, 2018. She was born April 24, 1953 in Dade City, Florida to the late Ralph Ford and Florine Scott Murph. She spent her early years lovingly shadowed by her late grandparents, Dora Mae Lovett Scott and Abram Scott in White Springs, Florida. Brenda moved to Orangeburg, South Carolina where began her early education at Felton Laboratory School at South Carolina State University. Brenda graduated from Wilkinson High School in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She married Joshua Dash and traveled the world as a military wife before settling in Columbia, South Carolina. To their union was born Derrick and Anissa. In Columbia, Brenda began her walk of faith with Jehovah. She joyfully served her Forest Drive congregation at the Fulmer Road Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She made many close and personal friends through this walk. She later married William Sylvester Frazier. Brenda completed her Associates Degree in Health Information Management at Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina. She became a Health Information Technician and began a career with the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Brenda worked there for over 20 years before retiring as her health began to decline. Sometimes referred to as “Dimples”, Brenda was known for her beautiful smile which she shared freely. She was very creative and expressed her creativity through baking, sewing, pottery-making, and straw basket-weaving. She blessed many people with her creations and even won ribbons at the South Carolina State Fair. Despite her health challenges, Brenda left a legacy of enthusiasm for life, a wonderful sense of humor, and a devotion to Jehovah. Brenda Dash-Frazier was preceded in death by her father Ralph Ford, and her step-father Samuel Murph. She leaves to mourn, her loving mother, Florine Scott Murph of Orangeburg, SC. A loving, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, and cousin, Brenda leaves to cherish precious memories her faithful daughter Anissa Blackman and her husband Patrick Blackman of Columbia, SC; loving son Derrick Dash and his wife Tammy Dash of Somerdale, New Jersey; devoted stepson Gregory Dash of Mount Olive, NJ; devoted grandchildren Ceasar Dash of San Diego, California, Avery Blackman of Columbia, SC, and Darius Dash of Somerdale, NJ. She is also survived by her loving and caring sisters Sonya Campbell and her husband Junne Campbell of Orangeburg, SC; Gina Ford Pace of Albany, GA; step-sister Tarzy Leysath and her husband Horace Leysath of Orangeburg, SC; brothers Ron Ford and Terrance Ford of Albany, GA.; step-mother Thelma Ford of Albany, Georgia; aunts Delores Scott Haigler of Columbia, SC; Fanny Murph Pittman of Orangeburg, SC and Jenny Elizabeth Scott of St. Petersburg, FL; and a host of nephews, cousins and other dear relatives and friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure.
