Cedric Bernard Coleman
September 2, 1966 - January 7, 2016
Sometimes in my prayer, I get stuck between whether I should be thankful for being able to lead a normal and healthy life, or thankful for getting the opportunities in life that I have…Now I know that I am thankful that God is your God (Mother), and that I have the family behind me that everyone should have. “Ced” 12-5-1988 Cedric Bernard Coleman entered this life on September 2, 1966. A gift to the late Malcolm R. Coleman, Sr. and Victoria R. Coleman Brown, he was affectionately called “Bang”. He was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Lee, and on January 7, 2016 sunset peacefully came to Cedric. Cedric was baptized at an early age, and was a member of the choir of Greater St. Luke Baptist Church of Columbia, SC. He obtained his education through the public schools of Columbia, SC. An athlete at heart, he was best known for his devotion to his family. Upon graduation from AC Flora High School in 1984, Cedric made Wichita State University in Wichita, KS his college of choice. He attended WSU under the Liberal Arts and Sciences curriculum while pursing his passion for playing basketball from 1984-1988. Cedric secured employment with MQP Enterprises Inc. where he was a SkyCap for Eastern Airlines and US Air. He also worked with G&S Janitorial Services. To know him was to love him. Cedric leaves to forever cherish his memories: his “Lil Bang” and loving daughter, Makiya Smith, Greensboro, NC; godchild, Cedrica Coleman; siblings, Malcolm, Carrie, and Jessica Coleman, Gregory (Kecia)Watson, Rosemary Green, Jacqulin Morant, Kathleen (Joseph) Pearson; four aunts, three uncles and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
