Charles Marion Seymore departed this earthly life on Monday April 22, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, SC. Born in Sumter County on November 13, 1946, he was the eldest of nine children born to late Ruth Ruth Lee Montgomery He was reared by his grandparents, the late Eddie and Zola Clark Sr. and stepfather, the late Clarence Montgomery. He was also the husband of Rosa Lee McBride Seymour of Sumter. Charles attended Sumter County public schools. Mr. Seymore was a former member of Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church of Sumter. In earlier years, he worked as a convenience store manager for several years. Afterwards, he worked and retired from Lakewood High school as a custodian. Charlie, as he was sometimes called, was a kind, loving and generous person. He had a big heart and appreciated spending time with his family and friends. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching football. Charlie was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and everything was about the blue, gray and white. He also delighted in showboating and just cool riding on a Sunday in his white Corvette. The good times, the laughter, and his presence will be missed by all those who loved and cared for him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Johnny Griffin and Rowland Seymore; two sisters: Lee Ann Seymour, and Bessie Solomon; four aunts: Betty Clark, Ada Hicks, Bertha Blackwell and Mary Ann White. He leaves to cherish precious memories: his wife, Rosa Lee Mc Bride Seymour; two daughters, Cherrelle Seymour of Sumter, and Toscha Wells of Douglasville GA; three sons, Steven (Niesha) Seymour, of Hemet, CA, Ricky (Stacey) Wells of Bridgeport, CT and SFC Jeremy (Genevieve) Scofield of Seattle Washington; currently stationed in Korea; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Victor Montgomery of Sumter and Wayne (Gendolyn) Montgomery of Spartanburg, SC; sisters: Virginia (David) McGill, Gwendolyn (Allen) Spann and Valarie Montgomery, all of Sumter; a special uncle, Eddie, Jr. and his wife Juanita Clark, in-laws, Bessie Seymore, Rovena Seynore, and Alexander White; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
