October 17, 1960 - November 7, 2017
On the joyous morning of October 17, 1960, a sunrise burst was born into life as, Darryl Vincent Lawson. On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, a husband; father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, affectionately known as “Bo Pete” said farewell to this earthly life at Palmetto Health Tuomey in Sumter, South Carolina He was a son of the late Henry Lee Lawson and Rhudine Jackson Lawson of Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Lawson was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School. He was formerly employed by several businesses in the Sumter community which included: People’s Natural Gas, Pine wall Drywall Construction and Walmart Companies; Palmetto Health Tuomey and finally for a span of about fifteen years, he was self-employed in general maintenance. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Creston, South Carolina. In his spare time, he loved football, basketball and Karate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Henry Lawson, Jr., Frank Lawson and Wayne Gary Lawson. He leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving wife of 29 years, Ruby Mae Lawson of the home; two daughters, Laniki, and Lanisha Lawson both of Sumter, South Carolina; a sister, Helen Lawson of New York; two brothers, Darnell Lawson, and George Lawson, both of Columbia, South Carolina; mother–in-law, Mrs. Willie Dene Davis of Sumter, South Carolina; five sisters-in-law, Ellease Lawson, Carla Lawson and Kris Lawson, all of Columbia, South Carolina, Thomasina Agim of Sumter, South Carolina and Apostle Rose J. Keith of Charleston, South Carolina ; one brother-in-law, Samuel L. Davis of Sumter, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
