“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 At the age of 69, Elizabeth Virginia “Ginger” Carter answered God’s call for a last appointment on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sumter, where she embarked upon a new journey to unite with family and friends in glory and to “Walk around heaven all day”. Elizabeth Virginia was born January 22, 1948, in Lee County, South Carolina to the late Robert Carter, Sr. and the late Dora Mae Brunson Carter. Elizabeth Virginia was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967. At an early age, Elizabeth Virginia joined Unionville AME Church in St. Charles, South Carolina, where she strengthened her belief in God and persevered on her Christian journey by later joining Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, South Carolina. Due to her extended illness, Elizabeth Virginia faithfully studied her Bible and she enjoyed sitting in the company of others to discuss all things Biblical. Her favorite Bible passage was continuously echoed to all who would listen-Psalms 23.
