Elliott L. Wilder

Elliott L. Wilder affectionately known as "Boo Boo" departed this earthly life on Monday January 9, 2017 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina. Born in Sumter County, he was a son of Mary Canty Wilder and Melvin Wilder, Jr. Elliott attended the public schools of Sumter and was a graduate of Sumter High School, Class of 1982. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pinewood, South Carolina. Mr. Wilder was employed by several companies in the Sumter community to include: Santee Print, Walmart, and Pilgrim's Pride. As a youth, he enjoyed spending his leisure time drawing, fishing, listening and disc jockeying to all types of music. He was a loving father, son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin, grandson, and loyal friend. "Boo Boo" was well loved by his family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his grandmother, two grandfathers, and uncle and two aunts. Mr. Wilder leaves to cherish loving and fond memories: his devoted mother and father, Mary C. and Melvin Wilder, Jr.; two brothers, Master Seargent (Ret.) Christopher (Angela) Wilder, Shreveport, Louisiana, Marvin (Tynisha) Wilder, Sumter; three children: Darrin Singleton, Marquis Prince, and Kayla M. Wilder; grandmother, Millie G. Canty and nieces, Brenna and Jordan; nephew Justin, all of Sumter; aunts and uncles; a very special friend, Diane Walters, Sumter; and a host of other realtives and friends.
