Ms. Francoise Monique Crowell

Francoise Monique Crowell: Blessed child of the Most High God, Beloved daughter, adored sister, Cherished mother and Grandmother, Reverend… these are just a few ways to describe the phenomenal woman whose life we are celebrating today. She was born on April 22, 1973, to Bennie Lee and Emma Crowell in Honolulu, Hawaii. Francoise has gone home to Glory where she is reunited with her Father Bennie Lee Crowell and Brother Bennie Lee Crowell II, who preceded her. As the oldest child of an Active Duty Soldier, her family, including her younger brother Bennie Lee Crowell II, traveled to Washington State, South Carolina; Erlanger, Germany, Colorado, and Minnesota before settling in Columbia, S.C. Maybe it was the childhood as a “military brat” which sparked her love for travel and adventure. “Pookie”, as she was affectionately nicknamed by family, had a passion for new experiences and living her best life. To Francoise, life was about “quality” and although the “quantity” of years was far too short as measured by the sorrow and grief of those who loved her, she lived a life rich in faith and accomplishments. She was a member of Light of the World Fellowship Ministries. Francoise graduated from Richland Northeast High School, Columbia S.C. in 1991 and pursued a variety of professional and academic interests. Although she held an Associate degree in Science, Chemical Technology and Engineering Technology as well as a Bachelor's of Science in Management, she ultimately found her calling in supporting others. After receiving a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling in 2012 from South University Columbia, with a heart of caring and reverence for the power of God’s influence, she integrated her traditional education and knowledge in Christ becoming an Ordained Minister on January 10, 2017. Rev. Crowell was an advocate for the unheard, a powerful voice of reason, and gifted in providing an encouraging word that was always perfect in the moment. Our beloved had a flare for colors which was merely a reflection of her vibrant personality, radiant sense of style, infectious sound of her laugh, and heartwarming smile. She enjoyed being near water and found peace walking around Lake Murray and other bodies of water. Someone who enjoyed life from end to end, Francoise could be seen tapping a foot, swaying to, or singing traditional hymns and contemporary Christian songs, Old School R&B and a host of other genres; she enjoyed the simplest meal and the finest of dining and would receive her blessing at her annual trip to the Joyce Meyer Women’s conference whether in the rafters or on the floor. But above all, to know her was to understand, she was most fulfilled by the title of Daughter, Mother and Grandmother. Those continuing in life to share her love and memories are her mother, Mrs. Emma Crowell; son, Xavier Deandre Crowell; daughter, Diandria T’Anjanique Crowell-Davis; grand twins, Dia Chanel and Dior Chasaan Crowell-Davis; maternal grandmother, Albertha Odom; maternal aunts, Daisy Glover of Orangeburg, SC and Mary Shivers of Greensboro SC; paternal aunts, Shirley Singletary, Ruthie Davis, and Tina Heyer of Winston Salem, NC; a host of cousins, family, friends, USC, DHEC, who love and respect her deeply. *To her adoring Sister Queens: Nikki, Tia, Princess and Chudney, Francoise will forever be in our hearts…she “is” always…never a Francoise “was”*
