Mrs. Inez Williams Leaf

The hour glass with its sand of time has slowly but surely spilled its content and with the passing of the last grain of sand on Tuesday, November 17, 2015; the life of Inez Williams-Leaf, 85, wife of the late Fletcher Leaf, Sr. entered into eternal rest at her residence in Sumter. Born on May 30, 1930 in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Thomas and Mrs. Sallie Seymour Williams. Mrs. Inez was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was employed at Georgia Pacific for many years. She chose to work in the healthcare profession as a private sitter in retirement. At an early age she accepted Christ and united with St. Paul A.M.E. Church, where she was a faithful and dedicated member. She served in many capacities including: the treasurer of Stewardess Board # 1, Annie Mae Williams Missionary Society, treasurer of the pulpit aid ministry, Senior Choir, Young Adult Choir, floral club ministry, a member of the Mission and Welfare Committee and the Mother’s Day committee. Mrs. Inez was appreciated and recognized for: culinary skills, quietness, respect towards others, love for her children and family, neatness, and her perfectionism. She would always make you feel special when you were in her presence. She enjoyed watching her favorite soaps, cooking, taking care of her family and flowers and traveling to the beach. Mrs. Leaf was preceded in death by: one son, Sammy Leaf; one grandson; Kelvin White; four brothers; Houston, Thomas, Jessie and Earl Williams; five sisters: Elizabeth Witherspoon, Phyllis Williams, Annie Singleton, Alice Williams and Hattie Sharpe. Survivors includes eight daughters; Vivian Leaf of the home; Andrenia Williams of Sumter, Betty (Ernest) Anderson of Lynchburg, SC, Rita (Rev. Sidney)Hampton, Elaine (John) Mack, Alfreda (George) Jackson, Louvenia Dixon and Letha Leaf all of Sumter, South Carolina. two sons, Floyd Leaf of the home, Fletcher (Minnie) Leaf of Sumter, South Carolina; one brother, Alfred(Novella) Williams, Sr. of Sumter, South Carolina; seventeen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and four great-great- grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
