August 26, 1956 - July 13, 2020
James "Tracy" Pringle transitioned to his heavenly home July 13, 2020, leaving his home in Augusta, Georgia, his favorite city on earth. Augusta is where Tracy spent his high school years, graduating in June of 1976 from Glenn Hills High School. While attending Glenn Hills, he played football and served as Student Commander of the JROTC program there. During his life, Tracy spent time in several places (Sumter, SC; Baltimore, Maryland; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; North Carolina; New Jersey), but it was always his desire to return to the place he loved, where he maintained many awesome friendships. We find solace that now Tracy has joined his brother Joseph; only two years apart, the two shared an undying relationship. Born August 26, 1956, in Sumter, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Annie Mae McFadden Gamble and the late Thomas Pringle. After graduating from high school, Tracy enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Signal Corps. Subsequently, he was employed in the Hazardous Waste Removal industry. Unfortunately, a disabling/crippling condition caused him to retire early. After returning to Augusta, he was affiliated with Bridges Ministries, where the Reverend Roger Gardner is the pastor. Often during church services, Tracy would call call Betty and keep her on the telephone asking her to listen to the beautiful and inspiring music at the church. He loved spiritual music! He also loved laughter and had an insatiable urge for storytelling and sharing jokes. Even as a child, he could bring laughter into an otherwise solemn room or situation. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by three siblings: Clebin (Pete) Ford, Thomasina Kenny, and Joseph Y. Pringle. He leaves to cherish precious memories his sister and brother-in-love Betty and Louie Dicks of Columbia, who reared him; other siblings: Willamae Williams of Philadelphia, PA, Edith (Rabbit) Maybell, Carolyn Vaughn, Agnes P. Frierson, Bobby F. Pringle, Brenda Ross, Mark Ross, Ronald Davis, all of Sumter, and Rochelle (Don) Smalls of Columbia; a special nephew, Corey (Diane) Pringle; a close friend, Kimberly Moulton; other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
