Kaffie Rene Boozer

July 28, 1954 - August 10, 2020

On Monday, August 10, 2020, the Lord called another soul home to eternal rest. Kaffie Rene Boozer, took her last breath at Prisma Health Richland. Born July 28, 1954, in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the precious, loving daughter of the late Clara Ellen Boozer. Educated in the public schools of Richland District One, she was a 1972 graduate of A.C. Flora High School. Shortly after graduation, Kaffie began employment with the State Mental Health Department, initially at the Bull Street facility, and remained until her retirement after thirty-five years of service. An exceptional, devoted employee, Kaffie received numerous certificates and awards to her outstanding service. A faithful servant of the Lord, Kaffie joined Bethlehem Baptist as a child. She was involved in various activities and organizations. Holding a great love for her church and church family, she was an avid member until her health began to decline, although she attended whenever she could. Kaffie always looked forward to the singing, preaching of the Word, praising of the Lord, and greeting the members. A fan of traveling, Kaffie especially enjoyed going to North Myrtle Beach during summer vacations. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, crocheting, solving crosswords, animals, singing, dancing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. A loving and devoted mother to her son Robert, no words could adequately express her love for her only grandchild JayShawn. She was also a devoted caregiver to her mother. In addition to her mother, Kaffie was preceded in death by two uncles: James "Sonny" Boozer and Preston Boozer; an aunt Yvonne Grayson; and her "second" loving mother Elizabeth Merkerson. She leaves to cherish precious memories her son Robert Shawn Coleman; a grandson JayShawn Coleman; a sister Ida Mae Sanders; an aunt Sandra (Archie, Sr.) Patterson; an uncle Edward Grayson, Jr.; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
