“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 Kathy Anne Carter Maple was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Carter, Sr. and the late Dora Mae Carter. She was born on June 11th, 1963 in Sumter County, South Carolina. God called her home on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 from Prisma Health Tuomey to her heavenly home. Kathy received her education in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School in 1982. She was employed previously by Piggly Wiggly Deli, Gold Kist/Pilgrim Pride and BI-LO Deli in Sumter. Kathy joined Saint Mark United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Voices of Inspiration and Praise Choir and the Women of Praise Dance Ministry. Kathy was a loving and compassionate person who loved her family. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul. In her spare time her passion was interacting with family, watching Lifetime, assisting others and being pampered. Kathy leaves to cherish her warm and precious memories her loving son Marcus Antonio Carter of Sumter, SC; two daughters Jeanna Patricia Carter and Johnique Dora Denise Carter both of Sumter, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Talisha Carter, Columbia, South Carolina, Bennie Haynesworth, Alazisa Carter, Jeyden Hannibal all of Sumter, South Carolina, Camari Crawford, Mikhi Carter, Mikhila Carter and Lyric Boyd, all of Sumter, South Carolina; three siblings, Robert Carter, Jr., Debbie (James) Rembert, all of Sumter, South Carolina and Patricia Lancaster, Richmond, Virginia; Sister-in-Law, JoAnne Carter, Sumter, South Carolina and Brother-in-law Roger Solomon; a special nephew Special Agent Derron Solomon; a devoted companion, Legrand Oaks, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Carter, her siblings Gaston Carter, Linda Diane Pack, John Mack Carter, Elizabeth Virginia Carter, Gloria Jean Carter Solomon, Sister-in Law, Annie Mae Fleming Carter, Brother in Laws, Earl Lancaster and Russell Moise Pack. Kathy will be missed by all who knew her.
