Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” II Timothy 4:7-8 Mrs. Oralee Bossard Britton widow of Wesley Britton was born on January 1, 1922 in Sumter South Carolina to the late Jack and Vertelle Williams Bossard. On Tuesday, September 22, 2015 she departed this life for eternal rest at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation in Sumter, South Carolina. Mrs. Britton was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She specialized in food service management at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. where she retired. While living in Washington, she attended Turner Memorial A.M.E. Church Washington, D.C. Upon returning home, she was employed at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina as a residence hall assistant where she retired. She renewed her Christian faith at St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she served as a member of the Missionary Society, Pastor’s Aide and advisor to the Usher Board. Mrs. Britton was preceded in death by four brothers: Windsor Williams, Donald, Lex and Nolan Bossard, Sr.; one sister, Mattie B. White. Precious memories will be shared by special nieces and nephews: Nolan (Glenda) Bossard Jr. of Sumter, South Carolina, Craig (Antwanette) Bossard and Cynthia Bossard of Baltimore, Maryland, and Aleitha Frierson; a friend like a son, Moses Chandler of Sumter, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Mildred T. Bossard of Sumter, South Carolina and Leola Bossard of Baltimore, Maryland; other nieces and nephews: Kenneth(Viola) Bossard, Marvin (Patricia) Bossard of Baltimore, Maryland, Albert(Jackie)Montgomery of Clinton, Maryland, Winsor (Cheree) Williams Jr. of Arkansas, Bertha Brown and Genevieve Bossard of New Orleans and Bertha Fayne of Memphis, Tennessee and host of relative and friends.
