Pauline Wells Wilson departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 4, 2017 at her home in Sumter, South Carolina. Born on December 18, 1930 and raised in Clarendon County, she was one of nine children born to the late Ms. Lula Wells Wilson Ms. Wilson was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church. She served in various ministries to include: Missionary President, Stewardess Ministry, Choir, member of the YM/YWCA Lodge No. 15 and in 2004, she was honored as “Mother of the Church”. Ms. Wilson loved helping and was committed to serving until her health began to decline. She was a loving and caring mother of eleven children. When she was not nurturing and providing for her children, she enjoyed cooking. Her specialty was her famous sweet potato pies. The memories of the joy we shared together as a family will forever be in our minds and hearts. In addition to her mother, the late Lula Wells and husband, Joe Wilson, she was preceded death by two sons, one grandson, one granddaughter and two brothers. Those left to cherish her precious memories are: six, daughters, Ida Stephens, St. Mary Georgia, Queen Williams, Raleigh, North Carolina, Polly (Carnell) Baxter, Manning, South Carolina, Annie Williams, Inez Grinnell and Brenda Wilson, all of Sumter, South Carolina; three sons: John (Luethel) Wilson, Clarksville, Tennessee , Levan Wilson, Alcolu, South Carolina and Aaron Wilson, Sumter, South Carolina ; a host of grandchildren , great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, two sisters: Juanita (Eddie ) Clark, Sumter, South Carolina and Mary Wilson, New Haven, Connecticut; five brothers: Joe Louis (Debra) Wilson, David (Clara) Wilson all of New Haven Connecticut , John (Terri) Wilson, Alexandria, Virginia, David (Malvenia) Wilson, Manning South Carolina, Robert Wilson, Sumter, South Carolina and many other dear relatives and friends.
