At 7:05PM Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the Mayo Medical Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, Sharon Hook Bailey peacefully passed away in her sleep after an extended illness. Born March 29, 1959, in the Bronx, New York, she was the youngest daughter of the late Margie Hook Mosley and William Mosley. Sharon grew up in a loving family environment with five siblings: three sisters and two brothers. She was the youngest girl and was spoiled by her mother who loved and adored her baby girl. At an early age, Sharon attended Tremont Methodist Church in Bronx, New York, with her family. She loved dressing up and attending church, especially with her older sisters. Easter was one of her favorite Sundays; she loved wearing her Easter dress with matching hat and shoes. Sharon attended elementary and middle school in Bronx, New York, and graduated from the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in Manhattan, New York, in the Class of 1977 with a major in Art and Design. She loved fashion and her portfolio was filled with many designs she created with the help of her sister, Joann. She cherished the designs over the years and presented them to family and friends. As a “fabulous fashionista” she interned and worked in the fashion industry for several years. She enrolled in Katherine Gibbs/Concordia College in 1998 in New York City and obtained a degree in Accounting and Business Management, and working many years on Wall Street. After leaving New York, Sharon spent time in various cities: Atlanta, Georgia; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Columbia, South Carolina; San Antonio, Texas; and finally Jacksonville, Florida; continuing her career. As she matured, Sharon decided to leave her family’s traditional church, Tremont Methodist, and joined the Jehovah’s Witnesses Organization where she served for many fruitful years. In addition to her mother and stepfather, Sharon was preceded in death by two sisters: Rosebelle Hook Ramsey and Joann Hook. She leaves to cherish precious memories her two children: Tabitha Nelson and Anthony G. Nelson; six grandchildren: Breanna Monroe, King Monroe, Anthony Monroe, Aniyah D’Aviane Tendarios, Aisa Rene Tendarios, Anthony Tendarios; a sister, Rosetta Hook Pringle; two brothers: Ronald Hook and Barry Hook; a brother-in-law, Wesley Pringle; and a host of other relatives and friends.
