Victoria C. Carter, affectionately known as “Mutt” departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 27, 2020 at her home in Bishopville, SC. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Carter, Sr. and Louise Howard Carter. Victoria attended Mayesville Institute School, in Mayesville, SC, where she played on the school’s basketball team. Victoria began her Christian journey in her early years and became a member of Unionville A.M.E. Church, St. Charles, South Carolina, where she served on the Missionary Board, Usher Board and the Jubilee Choir. As a devoted member, she loved her church and especially enjoyed attending all the church functions as she dressed in all her favorite colors. Victoria was first employed by Mafco Industrial Plant in McBee, SC. Afterwards, she worked as a domestic worker and did other various jobs. In later years, she was hired as a cook for Sumter Cute Rate Drugs were worked for many years. In addition to her parents, Albert Carter, Sr., and Louise Howard Carter, Ms. Carter was preceded in death by a son, Willie James Carter; a sister, Virginia Thomas and two brothers: Robert Carter and Archie Rogers. Those left to cherish precious memories are three daughters: Ernestine Carter of the home and caregiver, Bishopville, SC, Roger Mae Wheeler, Mayesville, SC, Bina Cater (Ferman) Ross, Latta, SC: son, Willie Lee Carter, Mayesville, SC; sister, Essie C. Boyd, Bishopville, SC; brother, Albert Carter, Jr., Jersey City, New Jersey; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Rogers, Sumter, SC and Beulah Carter of Woodrow, SC; 16 grandchildren, 5 were raised as her own: Katrice Wheeler-Prince, Mario Carter, Ahziah Wheeler, Orlando Carter and Tyrone Reames ; 38 great-grands; 21 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends: Gertrude Wilson, Jannie Mae Carter and Minnie Rogers.
