Wilhelmena Reese

January 11, 1935 - January 27, 2016

Psalms 40-1 “I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined unto me and heard my cry.” Ms. Wilhelmena Reese, affectionately known to all as “Sister”. The loving daughter of the late Henry Reese and Wilhelmena Colclough-Reese was born in Sumter, South Carolina on January 11th, 1935. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday January 27th, 2016 at Palmetto Health Tuomey Hospital Sumter, SC. She received her formal education in the public schools of Sumter County. She was employed by Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Pace of Sumter and worked for their family for many years. Ms. Reese joined St. Mark United Methodist Church at an early age. She was a dedicated Usher and a lifelong member. Her was love was shown to all by her sweet smiles and warm hugs. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Henrietta Brown, Martha Reese, and Jesse Mae Reese; three brothers, James Reese, Henry Reese Jr., and Jimmy Golden. She leaves to cherish her precious memories one loving daughter, Brenda Reese of the home, one sister Betty Reese of the home and one brother, Richard Reese (Minnie) of Sumter, SC; three grandchildren, Bryan Reese ( Lorraine ) of Brooklyn, NY, Deatra Brown of San Antonio, TX, and Denzelle T. Atkinson of the home, six great-grands Desmond, Brittany, Bryson, Bryan Tyshawn, Jawan, and Jameasha, four sisters-n-law;adopted son Wayne Williams of Sumter, SC, and adopted daughter Daphney Greene of Mayesville, SC; adopted sister, Lucille Yates; adopted daughters, Deloris Lemus, Valerie Mcleary, Gloria J. Solomon and Margaret Wilder; adopted grand-daughters, Cathy Maple and Regina Lemus; adopted grand-sons, Aaron's Army Mime Ministry and two devoted friends of the family Reverend Johnnie Mae McFadden and Leroy Pringle Jr., and numerous neices, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
