Louise Rose Sessions Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Louise Rose Sessions, wife of the late Deacon James A. Sessions, was born April 16, 1929 in Mayesville, South Carolina to the late Beatrice Rose and the late Mose Johnson. She departed this earthly life on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, South Carolina. Louise received her education from the “Historic Mayesville Institute” in Mayesville, South Carolina. She began her Christian journey at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Mayesville. After marriage, she and her husband joined Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter where she received The Lord Jesus as her personal Savior. Louise served faithfully in the capacities of the church secretary and the Usher Board. The young couple’s family grew, and they moved and soon joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, where she served faithfully and was active in almost every ministry. Her final membership was at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church under the leadership of Elder Barrington Pierson. She was employed by Pioneer Elkay Industries for twenty years. Louise loved to cook. She specialized in any type of soul food that your heart desired. Her sweet potato pies and her homemade cornbread stuffing and biscuits were the best. It gave her such joy to be able to cook for her family and friends. Louise also loved to shop. She was known for having great taste in clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Always tasteful and always a lady in whatever she chose to wear; friends and family would often ask her, “Louise, what are you going to do with all those pretty clothes and shoes?” Her heart was big and her hands were free. She did not count it robbery to bless her friends, family, or the young ladies at the church that lovingly called her “Ma Sessions” with anything she had from her large collection. It did not matter if it was new with the tags still on it or not. If you needed it or even if you just liked it, it was yours without hesitation. Most of all, she loved the Lord Jesus and loved to pray and to read God’s Holy Word. She had great faith and because she trusted God, did not mind if she had to give up her rights for someone else’s wrongs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon James A. Sessions; three children, James Lee Sessions, Louise S. Galloway, and Diane S. Campbell; two sisters, Clara Edna Kenney and Mosella Johnson; grandparents, Willie and Lou Rose Fullard and Jim and Maggie Rose; two uncles, Willie “Buck” Rose and Henry “Bo” Johnson; aunt, Drucilla Fullard; sisters-in-law, Hattie Mae Sessions, Cornela Harvey and Mary Sessions; brothers-in-law, Rufus Sessions, Willie Sessions and Joseph Sessions ; daughter-in-law, Mary Jackson Sessions. Louise leaves to cherish precious memories; two sons, Willie B. Sessions and Deacon Jose (Lakisha) Sessions of Sumter, SC; two granddaughters of the home, Shaynna Sessions and Shayla Sessions; twelve other grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; cousins, Wilhelmina Harris and Maybelle Austin; sister-in-law, Leola Sessions; daughter-in-law, Vatrice Sessions; son-in-law, Rev. Robert Earl Galloway, all of Sumter, SC, and a host of other relatives and friends.
