Mr. Randolph Hennix

Mr. Randolph "Randy" Hennix peacefully departed this life on June 30, 2026, in Huntersville, North Carolina. He was 88 years old. Randy was born on September 27, 1937, in Florence, South Carolina, to the late Nathaniel and Catherine Hennix. While still a young child, his family relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1955, beginning a life marked by service, perseverance, and devotion to family. Answering the call to serve his country, Randy enlisted in the United States Air Force. During an exemplary 27-year military career, he rose to the rank of Master Sergeant, earning the respect of his fellow service members through his leadership, discipline, and unwavering commitment to duty. Following his honorable retirement from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, he and his family made Sumter their home. Never one to stop learning, Randy pursued higher education while in the military. In 1977, he proudly graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, reflecting his belief in the value of knowledge and lifelong growth. Beyond his accomplishments, Randy was known for his warm spirit and his love of sports—especially his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. Football Sundays were a cherished tradition, and family and friends knew exactly where to find him: comfortably seated in front of the television, proudly dressed in Eagles gear, enthusiastically cheering, "Fly Eagles Fly!" His passion for the game was contagious and brought joy to those around him. Randy was first united in marriage to the love of his life, Mrs. Betty Prince Hennix. They shared 20 wonderful years together before her passing. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Randa Hennix (Cedric) Robinson and Rhonda Hennix (Wendol) Stewart. Through them, Randy's greatest joys continued to grow with the arrival of his cherished grandchildren: Regan Stewart, Ryann Stewart, and Randall Robinson. Later in life, with the love and support of their adult children, Randy married Mrs. Janet Cobb Hennix. Together they built a loving blended family until her passing. He leaves to cherish his memory two stepdaughters, Angela Cobb and Anita Cobb (Jada) Lokeman, along with three step-grandchildren, Robert, David, and Anne Marie Lokeman. Randy was blessed with six siblings. He was preceded in death by four: Wendell Hennix, Alphonso Hennix, Nathaniel Hennix Jr (Ann), and Sheila Hennix Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory two devoted brothers, Walter E. Hennix and Charles W. Hennix (Yvonne). His memory will also be forever treasured by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones, including his special cousin, Ms. Mamie Miles, and his beloved sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances Prince (Joe) Rice. Randy lived a life defined by faith, integrity, service, and love. Whether serving his country, supporting his family, encouraging those around him, or celebrating another Eagles victory, he embraced life with quiet strength and steadfast devotion. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched.
